KC mark (Korea Certification)
Korea's mandatory safety marking, tiered by risk into Safety Certification, Safety Confirmation and Supplier's Declaration of Conformity. Lithium-ion batteries and chargers usually fall under Safety Confirmation or Safety Certification. CB reports are normally convertible.
- Issued by
- Korean designated bodies such as KTC, KTL and KTR
- Assessment route
- Third-party certification
- How it is obtained
- Test against KC standards (largely adopted from IEC). The Safety Certification tier also requires a factory audit. Korean-language labelling and filing documents are submitted by a Korea-based applicant.
- Marking rules
- The KC mark must appear together with the certification number, with Korean label content and placement per the rules.
- Validity and upkeep
- Safety Certification requires periodic factory surveillance to stay valid; standard or design changes require a change application.
