# Which certifications does a storage battery need to be exported to the EU?

> The battery regulation, EMC and Low Voltage directives under CE marking, plus IEC safety testing and UN 38.3.

You need to satisfy the relevant regulations under CE marking: Regulation (EU) 2023/1542 on batteries, the EMC Directive 2014/30/EU, and where applicable the Low Voltage Directive 2014/35/EU. Safety testing is normally based on IEC 62619, IEC 62620 or IEC 63056; transport additionally requires a UN 38.3 test report. A technical file, DoC and compliant labelling are also required.
