# PSE · PSE mark (Japan DENAN Act)

The mandatory mark under Japan's Electrical Appliance and Material Safety Act. Specified products carry the diamond PSE and require inspection by a registered conformity assessment body whose name is shown alongside; non-specified products carry the round PSE under self-confirmation. Lithium-ion secondary batteries are a specified product.

| How it is obtained | Test against the DENAN appended tables and the corresponding technical standards. Diamond PSE also requires factory inspection. Notification must be filed by a Japan-based importing or manufacturing business operator. |

| Validity and upkeep | The conformity inspection certificate for diamond PSE has a fixed validity (three to seven years depending on category) and must be renewed. |
